How often do you look at a confident person and assume they were born that way? That they’ve always walked into a room with ease, spoken up without fear, or taken bold action without hesitation? SHOWSTOPPER….Here’s the truth… confidence isn’t something you stumble across one day and suddenly have forever. It isn’t found, it’s built. Brick by brick. Promise by promise.

Real, lasting confidence isn’t about what others see; it’s about how deeply you trust yourself. It’s not the loudest person in the room or the one who seems to have all the answers. It’s the quiet assurance that, no matter what comes, you can rely on yourself to figure it out. And that kind of self-trust is earned — not by achieving perfection, but by consistently following through on the small things you say you’ll do.

Every time you keep a promise to yourself, you add another layer to your self-belief. You start proving to yourself that your words have weight. I like to think of it like building a muscle — each repetition strengthens it. When you commit to something, no matter how small, and follow through, you’re doing more than completing a task. You’re teaching yourself that you can be counted on. You stand that extra inch taller, you did it for you and you are boosting your energy, passion and drive to continue.

But here’s where many of us trip up. We keep our promises to everyone else, but not to ourselves. We’ll rearrange our schedule to support a friend, stay late to help a colleague, or drop everything for our family — yet when it comes to the things we’ve said we’ll do for us, we let them slide. “I’ll start tomorrow.” “It’s not that important.” “I’ll get back to it when the other priorities calm down.”

Each time we break a promise to ourselves, even in small ways, it leaves a mark. It sends a quiet message: I don’t trust myself to follow through, I don’t matter. Over time, that erodes our self-belief. We start to question our abilities, our decisions, and even our worth. And then we wonder why our confidence feels so fragile. Like we are here t serve others, nothing else matters.

Rebuilding that trust doesn’t require grand gestures. In fact, the smaller and more consistent you make it, the stronger the impact. Confidence grows when you decide to take action — even tiny steps — and then actually do what you said you would.

Start with something simple but meaningful. Maybe it’s going for a ten-minute walk every morning, journaling before bed, or setting aside half an hour each week for something that nourishes you. The goal isn’t to revamp your life overnight; it’s to give yourself evidence that you can show up. When you keep these small promises, you begin to rewrite the story in your head — from “I never stick to things” to “I can trust myself.”

And yes, you’ll have off days. You’ll forget, get distracted, or fall back into old habits. That’s not failure; that’s being human. What matters most is what you do next. Do you beat yourself up and give up? Or do you take a breath, show yourself compassion, and recommit to the next small step? One missed step does not count for the whole staircase… Confidence is built in that moment… when you choose to come back to yourself rather than abandon your progress.

You see, confidence isn’t a feeling that appears out of nowhere. It’s the result of action. You don’t wait to feel confident before you take the step, you take the step, and the confidence follows. Each action you take becomes proof that you can do hard things, handle uncertainty, and keep moving forward even when it’s uncomfortable.

So if you’ve been telling yourself you’ll start when you feel ready, this is your reminder: readiness is a myth. The confidence you’re looking for comes after you act, not before.

Imagine how different things would feel if you began treating yourself with the same reliability, respect, and kindness you offer others. If you became the person who keeps promises — especially the ones made in quiet moments, when no one else is watching.

That’s where real power lives.

Because confidence isn’t about pretending you’re fearless or having everything figured out. It’s about knowing you’ll back yourself — even when you’re scared, even when you don’t have all the answers, even when it’s messy.

So today, instead of asking, “How can I feel more confident?” try asking, “What small promise can I keep to myself right now?” Then do it. Let it be something simple enough that you can actually achieve it, but meaningful enough that it matters. Those little wins are what build momentum. And before you know it, you’ll look back and realise that the version of you who once doubted herself has quietly become someone who knows she can count on herself, no matter what.

Confidence isn’t found. It’s built, one small promise at a time.

Reflection prompts:

1. What is one small promise you could make, and keep, to yourself this week that would help you feel more in alignment with who you want to be?

Think of something that feels achievable and meaningful. The goal isn’t perfection; it’s consistency.

2. When was the last time you kept a personal promise and felt genuinely proud of yourself?

Reflect on what that moment showed you about your resilience, capability, and strength.

3. Where in your life are you overcommitting to others and under-committing to yourself, and what would it look like to start balancing that?

Consider one boundary or shift you could make to start valuing your own commitments just as highly as you value everyone else’s.

Confidence begins the moment you decide you’re worth keeping promises to. And you are, deeply, unquestionably, wonderfully worth it.

Now go to it without delay…x

You’re in your 20s, trying to figure it all out — building a career, navigating relationships, and maybe even trying to find out who you are outside of other people’s expectations. From the outside, everything looks fine. You’re showing up, doing the work, smiling in meetings, replying to texts. But on the inside? You feel stuck.

Maybe you’re not even sure why. You just know something feels off.

That invisible heaviness, the loop of self-doubt, the pressure to “have it together” — it builds. And if you’re also dealing with stress, bullying at work, undiagnosed ADHD, or low confidence, that feeling can become all-consuming.

So, What Does It

Actually

Mean to Feel Stuck?

“Stuck” doesn’t always look like rock bottom. Sometimes it looks like being in a job that’s okay but drains you. Or spending hours overthinking every decision, every email, every conversation. You’re busy, but not fulfilled. You’re achieving, but not celebrating. You’re functioning, but not thriving.

For many young women we work with at Exceed Coaching Ltd, this sense of being stuck is like an emotional fog. You’re unsure whether it’s burnout, fear of failure, or just life not matching up with what you thought your 20s would feel like.

And then there’s the added weight of being a woman in today’s workforce. You’re trying to be assertive but not “too much.” You want to grow, but imposter syndrome creeps in. You second-guess your value, your voice, and your potential — especially if you’ve experienced bullying, microaggressions, or constant comparison at work.

The ADHD Layer (Even If You’re Undiagnosed)

If you’ve ever described yourself as “scattered,” “always behind,” or “never able to finish things,” you might be dealing with ADHD — diagnosed or not. It’s one of the most underdiagnosed conditions in women, especially those who’ve been taught to mask their struggles and push through.

ADHD isn’t just about focus. It’s about how you process the world — the sensitivity, the emotional intensity, the time blindness, and the perfectionism that leads to procrastination. It can create an internal war between who you want to be and what your brain will let you do.

That disconnect feeds directly into the feeling of being stuck — no matter how capable, smart, or creative you are.

Pressure, Perfection, and Performance

Let’s talk about pressure. It’s everywhere — from social media, your workplace, your friends, and even from within. You might be telling yourself things like:

“I should be further ahead by now.”

“Everyone else seems to be doing better.”

“I need to prove I’m good enough.”

This pressure doesn’t motivate — it paralyzes. It keeps you operating from fear instead of inspiration. It fuels stress, anxiety, and a never-ending loop of “not enough.” And the more you push yourself without pausing to ask why, the deeper into survival mode you go.

Survival mode is where growth stops. Confidence shrinks. Mindset narrows. And you begin to believe this stuckness is permanent.

But here’s the truth:

Feeling stuck is not a sign that you’re failing. It’s a sign that you’re ready to grow.

You’re Not Broken — You’re Burnt Out

At Exceed Coaching Ltd, we want to challenge the idea that your 20s should be about pushing through stress and ignoring the signs that something isn’t right. If you’re waking up tired, dreading work, zoning out in meetings, or constantly questioning yourself — that’s not laziness or weakness.

That’s your inner self calling for support. For clarity. For space to breathe.

And you don’t need to do it alone.

There’s a Way Forward — And It Starts With a Mindset Shift

The first step to moving forward is understanding where you’re at — mentally, emotionally, and practically. That’s why we’ve created a free guide and quiz designed specifically for women like you: ambitious, self-aware, and ready for something more, but just needing a little help to get there.

Click here to take the FREE quiz and download your guide now

It only takes a few minutes — and it can give you powerful insights into your stress patterns, mindset blocks, and the support you actually need to move forward.

This isn’t about “fixing” you — it’s about freeing you.

Coaching That Gets It — Because We’ve Been There

We know what it’s like to feel stuck in a cycle of overthinking, self-sabotage, and stress. To smile on the outside while screaming on the inside. Whether you’re managing ADHD, navigating workplace bullying, or simply exhausted from trying to live up to impossible standards, we’re here to help you break that cycle.

Through our 1:1 coaching, group sessions, and free tools, we focus on:

Confidence building without toxic positivity

ADHD-friendly strategies that actually work

Mindset rewiring that doesn’t feel like fluff

Navigating pressure and stress with resilience

Breaking free from people-pleasing and burnout

You don’t have to be “perfect” to get support. You just have to be ready to try something new.

Imagine This Version of You…

You wake up with clarity and direction, not dread.

You speak up in meetings without second-guessing yourself.

You finish projects (yes, even the ones you’ve been avoiding for months).

You stop letting fear and comparison drive your decisions.

You finally feel free — from pressure, from old patterns, from being stuck.

That version of you isn’t far away. She’s already in you — waiting to be released. Coaching is the bridge.

Ready to Get Unstuck? Let’s Do This Together.

You don’t need to keep fighting through your 20s. You don’t need to stay small, stay silent, or stay stuck. Whether you’re working through stress, ADHD, low confidence, or the aftershocks of bullying — there is a way through.

Start by taking that first free step. The quiz and guide will help you get honest with where you are, and give you a clear path toward where you want to be.

Click here to take your FREE quiz and download the guide today

Your breakthrough might be one click away.

Because you’re not lost. You’re just ready for the next level.

And we’re here to help you EXCEED.

The Burnout Nobody Talks About

You’ve hit the goals. The career milestones. The promotions. On paper, you’re a success.

But inside? You’re running on fumes. You wake up already tired. You carry a mental checklist that never empties. And no matter how much you push, you feel like you’re falling further behind emotionally.

This isn’t simple stress. This is emotional burnout the invisible drain that high-achieving women silently battle for years.

Emotional burnout coaching for women offers not just relief, but a proven path to reclaim your energy, focus, and peace of mind.

The Emotional Load of High-Achieving Women

For professional women, burnout isn’t always dramatic. It builds quietly:

Constant decision-making

Navigating work pressure and home responsibilities

Supporting others while neglecting personal needs

The guilt of slowing down, even when you know you should

Life coaching for women exists because these complex pressures require more than a bubble bath or quick vacation. You don’t just need rest, you need recalibration.

Why Traditional Advice Fails

You’ve heard it before:

“Take a weekend off.”

“Practice self-care.”

“Set better boundaries.”

But when you’re deeply burned out, those quick fixes barely touch the surface. Burnout recovery requires untangling emotional, cognitive, and lifestyle patterns that have been layered over years of high performance.

That’s where emotional burnout coaching for women becomes life-changing.

The Signs You’re In Emotional Burnout

Many women stay stuck because they dismiss early burnout symptoms:

Fatigue that sleep doesn’t fix

Irritability and short patience

Feeling emotionally flat or numb

Anxiety or dread about work

Losing joy in achievements

Feeling resentful but unable to speak up

Sound familiar? You’re not broken. Your system is simply maxed out.

The Hidden Cost of Emotional Burnout Coaching for Women Ignored

You’ve checked every box. career, success, family, leadership. From the outside, it looks perfect. But inside, emotional burnout quietly builds. You wake up tired even after a full night’s sleep. You snap at small things. You wonder why something that once excited you now feels heavy.

This is emotional burnout. And for high-achieving women, it’s a silent epidemic.

At Exceed Coaching, Lisa Cobble specializes in emotional burnout coaching for women, helping professional women recover clarity, confidence, and calm through her 6-Stage Recovery Plan.

Why Emotional Burnout Hits Women Differently

Women aren’t just managing careers. They’re juggling leadership roles, families, mental loads, unspoken expectations, and the constant pressure to “do it all.” For many women, this creates:

Difficulty focusing at work.

Feeling emotionally numb or overwhelmed.

Anxiety and quiet self-doubt.

Executive dysfunction, sometimes worsened by undiagnosed ADHD.

Loss of career satisfaction despite external success.

What Does Burnout Look Like for Women with ADHD?

Burnout isn’t simply working too hard. For women with ADHD, it’s the emotional exhaustion of:

The crushing guilt of feeling like you should “have it together”

Emotional dysregulation that amplifies every minor setback

The cycle is brutal:
You overwork to compensate for executive function struggles → You burn out → You become less productive → You feel shame → You overwork again.

Left unchecked, this spiral leads to full emotional collapse or complete career disengagement.

Unlike one-size-fits-all solutions, emotional burnout coaching for women recognizes the complex emotional toll high-achieving women carry daily.”

Why Life Coaching for Women Works Differently

Therapy can help process trauma.
Medication may support ADHD symptoms.
But what most women desperately need is strategic, structured coaching that targets both burnout and ADHD overwhelm together.

At Exceed Coaching, Lisa Cobble’s 6-Stage Coaching Plan was designed specifically for high-achieving women balancing:

Life coaching for women with burnout and ADHD isn’t about simple time management hacks or motivational quotes.

It’s about rebuilding your executive system from the ground up, starting with clarity, not shame.

Emotional burnout coaching for women doesn’t require you to slow down your career, it helps you build sustainable habits that allow you to thrive.

The 6-Stage Coaching Plan for Burnout & ADHD Recovery

Pause & Reflect

We assess where you’re leaking energy mentally, emotionally, and physically. We uncover hidden ADHD triggers amplifying your burnout.

Clarify Values & Priorities

You’ll define what truly matters, not what society, bosses, or family expect. ADHD often clouds priorities; we clear the fog.

Break Mindset Patterns

Perfectionism, procrastination, people-pleasing, these deeply ingrained habits feed your overwhelm. We dismantle them.

Rebuild Confidence

As your energy returns, you rebuild self-trust and learn how to make consistent progress without daily burnout cycles.

Create Your Career & Life Strategy

We design systems that work with your brain, not against it: scheduling, task management, boundaries, and sustainable routines.

Sustain Long-Term Balance

True freedom is found in maintaining your energy, boundaries, and emotional wellbeing consistently.

Why Women with ADHD Are Especially Vulnerable to Burnout

Research shows women are often diagnosed with ADHD later in life, if at all. Many spent years masking symptoms through:

Over-preparing

Overworking

Obsessive list-making

Chronic perfectionism

Emotional suppression

As responsibilities compound (career + kids + aging parents), the cracks widen until the entire system crashes.

Life coaching for women with burnout and ADHD offers a new blueprint.

It’s not about “fixing you”, it’s about optimizing your systems to work with how your brain naturally functions.

The Neuroscience Behind Emotional Burnout (And Why Coaching Works)

Emotional burnout doesn’t happen overnight, it builds slowly as the brain’s stress systems stay activated for too long. For women juggling demanding careers, families, and internal expectations, this constant state of “fight or flight” creates dangerous neurological patterns.

When you remain in chronic high-performance mode, your amygdala (the brain’s fear center) becomes hyperactive, while your prefrontal cortex, responsible for decision-making, focus, and emotional regulation, begins to fatigue..

This is why even simple tasks feel overwhelming. You’re not weak, your brain chemistry is simply running on fumes.

Through emotional burnout coaching for women, Lisa helps clients retrain these neurological patterns. With targeted coaching, women:

Rebuild executive function capacity

Reduce cortisol-driven stress loops

Restore cognitive flexibility

Learn how to self-regulate emotions during pressure

This isn’t about mindset tricks, it’s science-backed recovery.

The Invisible Cost of Delaying Support

One of the most dangerous parts of emotional burnout is how long high-achieving women try to tolerate it.

Many push through for months, even years, believing things will “calm down eventually.” But research shows that once burnout becomes chronic, recovery takes exponentially longer, and career satisfaction often deteriorates.

Women who delay emotional burnout coaching risk:

Long-term executive dysfunction

Escalating anxiety or depression

Relationship strain

Career disengagement or forced time off

Complete collapse of emotional resilience

Early intervention through specialized coaching often cuts recovery time dramatically.

The Unique Pressure on Professional Women with ADHD

For many women, burnout isn’t simply external, it’s compounded by undiagnosed or poorly managed ADHD. Emotional burnout coaching for women must recognize how ADHD uniquely amplifies overwhelm:

Difficulty prioritizing tasks leads to constant overcommitment

Perfectionism creates impossible internal standards

Emotional dysregulation magnifies setbacks

Hyperfocus on work leaves no room for rest

Poor sleep exacerbates cognitive fatigue

Lisa’s coaching integrates ADHD-sensitive strategies that help women work with their neurodiverse brain rather than against it.

Emotional Burnout vs. Physical Burnout: Why Women Confuse The Two

Many women dismiss emotional burnout because they associate burnout with pure physical exhaustion. But emotional burnout often shows up subtly:

You can physically complete tasks but feel detached or numb

You’re mentally present but emotionally checked out

Your energy fluctuates wildly between hyperactivity and shutdown

Success feels hollow, even after major achievements

Emotional burnout coaching for women helps identify these warning signs early before they lead to physical health breakdown.

Client Wins: What Emotional Burnout Coaching Delivers

Women who complete Lisa’s 6-Stage Emotional Burnout Recovery Plan often report:

Renewed clarity in career decisions

Sustainable daily energy (without caffeine dependency)

Stronger boundaries without guilt

This Isn’t About Doing Less. It’s About Thinking Differently

The misconception many women have is that fixing burnout requires giving up career ambition. But the real solution is recalibrating how you operate.

Through emotional burnout coaching for women, you learn how to:

ADHD, Executive Overload & Emotional Fatigue

Many high-achieving women silently battle ADHD-like symptoms without realizing how much they contribute to career burnout:

Her coaching isn’t surface-level advice

Lisa’s career & life coaching for professional women combines high-level leadership understanding with emotional intelligence coaching to create permanent shifts, not quick fixes.

Why Most Women Don’t Ask for Help (Until It’s Too Late)

Women delay getting coaching because they believe:

“I should handle this on my own.”

“Everyone else seems to juggle it all.”

“It’s not that bad…yet.”

“If I work harder, it’ll eventually get better.”

But here’s the truth:
Clarity doesn’t come from grinding harder.
It’s about having the kind of conversation most people never get… with someone who’s already fought the battles you’re facing.

High performance in individuals if often defined as the ability to consistently exceed expectations. In this blog we explore how that can be maintained over time.

What is High Performance?

High performance in individuals is often defined as the ability to consistently exceed expectations in a given area. It can be observed in those who are able to achieve their goals, meet deadlines, and produce high-quality work. High performers are also often characterised by their motivation, drive, and ability to stay focused under pressure.

There are many factors that contribute to high performance in individuals, including:

Skill and knowledge: High performance comes from having the skills and knowledge necessary to complete tasks and achieve goals. There is a thirst for constant learning and developing new skills.

Motivation: High performance is driven by motivation to succeed. There is a clear vision of what is wanted to be achieved and a willingness to put in the hard work necessary to make it happen.

Drive: High performance is driven by success. This cannot be easily discouraged and there is a need to always be looking for ways to improve.

Focus: High performance means being able to stay focused on goals, even when faced with distractions. Being able to block out or manage distractions and stay on task.

Resilience: High performance means being resilient. An ability to bounce back from setbacks and not being afraid to take risks.

Positive attitude: High performance needs a positive attitude. A belief in self and own ability to succeed. Optimism and an ability to see challenges as opportunities for growth.

What enables successful high performance?

There are many factors that enable high performance. Some of the most important include:

A supportive partner. Having a partner who is supportive of your success and helps out with childcare and household tasks can make a huge difference in your ability to succeed.

A strong support network. Having a network of friends, family, and other high performers who can offer support and advice can be invaluable.

Flexibility. Being able to be flexible with your work schedule and priorities can be essential for juggling work and family commitments.

Organisation . Being organised and efficient with your time can help you make the most of the hours you have available.

Self-care. It’s important to make time for yourself to relax and recharge, even when you’re feeling overwhelmed. More on this later.

Positive attitude. Maintaining a positive attitude can help you stay motivated and focused on your goals.

On the element of being organised, I have found huge benefit in using a planner, and this one from Brendon Buchard is my favourite.

Why High Performance needs Balance

There must be balance. You cannot run 100 miles an hour 24 hours of the day. This is where burnout lives. This is where stress is high and high performance is threatened.

Balance, therefore, must come in the form of self care. Self care is important for everyone, but it can be especially important for high performers. When you’re juggling the demands of work and family, it’s easy to neglect your own needs. But taking care of yourself is essential for your physical and mental health. Remember, from my previous blog, it is ESSENTIAL to put on your own oxygen mask first. Go back and read that blog if you need a refresher.

Here are some tips for self-care for high performers:

Make time for yourself. It’s important to schedule time for yourself each day, even if it’s just for a few minutes. This could be time to read, take a bath, or just relax and do nothing.

Get enough sleep. When you’re sleep-deprived, it’s harder to focus and make good decisions. Each of us has our own level of enough sleep so know it and try to stick to it.

Eat healthy foods. Eating healthy foods will give you the energy you need to get through the day. Make sure to include plenty of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains in your diet.

Exercise regularly. Exercise is a great way to reduce stress and improve your mood. Aim for at least 30 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise most days of the week. This will also aid the quality of your sleep. Why not listen to something along the way to maximise the benefit? My podcast can be found here.

Spend time with loved ones. Spending time with friends and family can help you relax and recharge. Make time for activities that you enjoy doing together.

Delegate tasks. Don’t try to do everything yourself. Ask for help from your partner, family, friends, or co-workers when you need it. Never be afraid to ask for that help. Others will enjoy helping you.

Say no. It’s okay to say no to things that you don’t have time for or that you don’t want to do. Don’t feel guilty about putting your own needs first sometimes.

Take a break. When you’re feeling overwhelmed, take a break from whatever you’re doing. Go for a walk, listen to music, or do something else that relaxes you. Remember to breath, settle yourself and go back when you are ready.

Seek professional help if needed. If you’re struggling to cope with stress or anxiety, talk to a therapist or counsellor. They can help you develop healthy coping mechanisms and manage your stress.

1-2-1 Coaching

Lately I have been working with individuals on a 1-2-1 basis, in person and via messaging. What strikes me is that there are so many out there who can be happy high performers, who have simply lost their way.

I can tell you from recent experience, the tough times are tough. They can take over your thoughts, your dreams and your life. They can make you feel alone. But you are never alone.

High performance needs high energy, high passion and high drive, but not 100% of the time.

I can be in the trenches with you, to look out together and to build an amazing foundation of confidence, happiness and power.

You can be a high performer. I believe in you….

Conclusion

If you want to become a high performer, or to rediscover your high performing self, it is important to develop the right qualities. You can do this by setting goals, taking action, and learning from your mistakes. It is also important to surround yourself with positive people who will support you and help you achieve your goals.

Remember, that there is no one-size-fits-all answer. What works for one may not work for another. The most important thing is that we find what works for you and to be flexible enough to adapt as needed.

Learning this kind of behaviour and maintaining it long term is a marathon, not a sprint. There will be good days and bad days. Just keep going and don’t give up on yourself or your dreams.

By following these tips, you can build a path to high performance. If you need personal support, why not get in touch?

I would be more than happy to help.

Being your true self, living to your values and being unapologetically you, as a woman in your 40s, is liberating. Read on for tips to embrace your own authenticity.

Being your True Self

If you look for a meaning of being your true self, you will read that it means living authentically and embracing who you are, regardless of what others may think or expect of you.

That it’s about being honest with yourself and others, and living in alignment with your values and beliefs.

In a world that often encourages conformity and fitting in, being your true self can be a challenging but rewarding journey.

In this blog, we’ll explore why being your true self is important, and some tips for embracing your authenticity.

Elements of being your True Self

1. Living authentically brings fulfilment

When you live authentically, you’re living in alignment with your true self. You’re not pretending to be someone you’re not, and you’re not hiding parts of yourself for fear of judgement or rejection.

This sense of authenticity and integrity can bring a deep sense of fulfilment and purpose to your life.

2. Embracing your authenticity attracts like-minded people

When you’re true to yourself, you attract people who share your values, interests, and beliefs. You’ll find it easier to connect with others on a deeper level, and you’ll build relationships based on mutual respect and understanding.

This can lead to a more fulfilling and rewarding social life.

3. Conforming to others’ expectations can lead to burnout

When you’re constantly trying to please others or meet their expectations, you can easily become exhausted and burnt out. Living authentically means setting boundaries, saying no when necessary, and focusing on what truly matters to you.

This can help you avoid burnout and maintain your energy, passion and drive for the things you care about most.

4. Being your true self inspires others

When you live authentically, you inspire others to do the same. By embracing your uniqueness and living in alignment with your values, you give others permission to do the same.

You become a role model for authenticity and integrity, and you inspire others to embrace their own authenticity.

5. Embracing your authenticity leads to personal growth

Living authentically requires courage and vulnerability. It means facing your fears, being honest with yourself, and taking risks. Embracing your authenticity can be a powerful catalyst for personal growth, as you learn more about yourself, overcome challenges, and develop resilience.

Here are some tips for embracing your authenticity:

* Get to know yourself: Spend time reflecting on your values, interests, and beliefs. Get clear on what’s important to you, and what you want to prioritise in your life.

* Practice self-acceptance: Embrace your strengths and weaknesses, and accept yourself as you are. Remember that you’re not perfect, and that’s okay.

* Set boundaries: Learn to say no when necessary, and set boundaries that protect your time and energy. This can help you avoid burnout and focus on what truly matters to you.

* Surround yourself with supportive people: Seek out friends and colleagues who support you and embrace your authenticity. Build your tribe. Avoid people who judge or criticise you for being yourself.

* Take risks: Embracing your authenticity often requires taking risks and stepping outside your comfort zone. Be willing to take calculated risks, and learn from your experiences, whether they’re successes or failures.

6-Stage Programme

My 6 stage programme was built on my own experience. I wrote it after I had been through a job change that I mentioned in a previous blog. And in fact, I used this again recently and developed a job application process at the same time (more to come on that).

The programme takes you through stages of knowing yourself, assessing your ‘current state’, looking towards a ‘future state’ and then assessing the steps and plan to bridge the gap.

By knowing yourself, building the confidence to reach out to those who can help influence the desired changes, leaving no possibility ignored, no stone unturned and nothing to chance, YOU are working on yourself. On Project You. You are showing the universe what you want and you are not leaving it to chance that it will be delivered.

The beauty of this programme is that you can use it to guide you to be happier at work, to change your career or other elements of your life.

And I love helping people to do that! See what Sheila had to say about what I do here.

Now decide….

Conclusion

Being your true self is a powerful way to live a fulfilling and meaningful life. Embracing your authenticity requires courage, vulnerability, and self-acceptance.

By following these tips, you can embrace your uniqueness, overcome challenges, and inspire others to do the same.

If you need help to rediscover your true self, why not get in touch?

Allow me to help fast track you to a more self aware, positive, confident and happy place.

Your true self is waiting for you….

Women are strong and resilient. They battle things you sometimes never see. Throughout history they have fought hard for equality and continue to do so. Read on to discover 6 reasons why.

The strength and resilience of women

Throughout history, women have faced numerous challenges and obstacles, from being denied the right to vote to being discriminated against in the workplace.

Despite these challenges, women have demonstrated incredible strength and resilience.

In this blog, we will discuss some of the ways in which women exhibit strength and the importance of recognizing and celebrating it.

1. Emotional strength

Women are often expected to be emotionally strong, especially when facing difficult situations. Women demonstrate emotional strength by persevering through challenging times, supporting loved ones, and advocating for themselves and others.

Often women will support others to the detriment of themselves, which can be on account of a strong maternal instinct. Due to this, women will support the ‘underdog’, wanting everyone to be happy, healthy and successful.

Emotional strength can still exist, despite a display of tears, they are not to be confused with weakness but a strong display of how deep the kindness and caring can go in women. Sometimes a display of tears can be easier than sharing words of how hard something is to endure.

2. Physical strength

Women have shown tremendous physical strength in various fields, including sport, the military, and manual labour jobs.

Women’s athletic achievements are impressive and continue to break records and change the perception of what is possible for women.

During childbirth a woman will exhibit strengths far greater than they can believe possible.

Women are less likely to take on something physical unless they believe enough that they can complete it.

3. Mental strength

Women have demonstrated mental strength by breaking through barriers and stereotypes to pursue their passions and careers.

They have overcome gender bias and societal expectations to become leaders in their fields, achieving great success and inspiring others.

In many of these cases, women have balanced self doubt, a need to feel secure, an ability to provide for themselves and their families along with learning and personal development.

4. Resilience

Women are known for their resilience and ability to bounce back from difficult situations. They have faced adversity, including domestic abuse, harassment, and discrimination, and continue to thrive despite the challenges they have faced.

It often comes from a woman’s ability to find good friends they can confide in and build strength together.

A good company will have networks / affinity groups that promote women in the workplace, which further builds their confidence and resilience in a corporate environment.

5. Empathy

Women often demonstrate incredible empathy, which enables them to connect with others on a deep level and provide support and care.

This strength is particularly valuable in nurturing relationships and building strong communities.

Being able to empathise with others allows a woman to see beyond the immediate situation and to see things from a different point of view. This allows a more logical approach to conflict resolution.

6. Leadership

Women have shown remarkable leadership skills, stepping up to take charge in their communities, workplaces, and political arenas. They bring diverse perspectives and new approaches to solving complex problems, leading to positive change.

It was clearly evident during the recent pandemic that a woman’s maternal instinct and logical thinking can save lives. Those female leaders in charge of their countries at the time of the pandemic shut down borders instantly, created sensible rules to protect their people and had a far higher success rate against the virus. This article in Forbes also goes so far as to cite research that women led states in the US had fewer covid related deaths – proving their approach really did save lives.

Final Point

It is important to recognise and celebrate the strength of women in all forms. A woman’s strength is often overlooked or minimised, but it is essential to remember that it is a powerful force that has the potential to transform society. By acknowledging and celebrating women’s strength, we can empower and inspire future generations of women to achieve their dreams and make their mark on the world.

6-stage programme

My tried and tested 6 stage programme was built due to my own experience. I wrote it after I had been through a job change. And in fact I applied all the same steps again last year when I changed jobs again.

The programme takes you through stages of knowing yourself, assessing your ‘current state’, looking towards a ‘future state’ and then assessing the steps and plan to bridge the gap.

By knowing yourself, building the confidence to reach out to those who can help influence your career, leaving no possibility ignored, no stone unturned and nothing to chance, YOU are working on yourself. On Project You. You are showing the universe what you want and you are not leaving it to chance that it will be delivered.

So you can see the connection with being a woman who is using her strength and resilience and how this is deeply woven into the fabric of the programme.

The beauty of this programme is that anyone can use it to guide them to be happier at work, to change their career or to even retire!

Conclusion

So if you are also feeling like you have more to give and want to capitalise on your female power, why not get in touch, save yourself the hassle of navigating a path. Allow me to help fast track you to the positive, confident and happy place we all deserve.

Being a working mother can be challenging and adds a lot of pressure. There are many factors at play. Learning to deal with them all and having strategies to address them can make them more manageable.

The pressures of being a working mother are numerous and can impact both personal and professional aspects of life.

Being a mother is a full-time job in itself, and balancing the responsibilities of work and motherhood can be a challenging and overwhelming experience.

Add in other ‘roles’, such as being a wife, the pressures continue to build.

In this blog, we will explore some of the pressures of being a working mother and provide tips on how to manage them effectively.

The Pressures and How to Manage Them

1. Balancing work and family

The biggest pressure of being a working mother is balancing your work and family responsibilities. It can be difficult to juggle the demands of a job with the needs of children, such as school drop-offs and pickups, doctor’s appointments, and extracurricular activities.

The key is to prioritise and schedule tasks effectively, communicate openly with your employer about your needs, and seek support from your partner, family, friends, or childcare providers when necessary.

A useful and visual method could be a weekly schedule that can be added to a white board in a focal point. All household members can add to the calendar showing their commitments.

The board could also be used to keep a shopping list, birthdays that are coming up or events that need to be prepared for to help with advanced planning.

Something along the lines of the below from Amazon could work well:

2. Guilt

As a working mother, you may experience feelings of guilt for not spending enough time with your children, or missing important milestones. It can be worse if you travel as part of your job.

It’s important to recognize that these feelings are normal and to practice self-compassion. You are working to provide for your family, and doing a great job of it.

As your children grow up there will be more times when they do more without you. It can be comforting to know they will be ok and as long as you are there for the big stuff (that you plan around) the smaller things will be ok.

It’s also helpful when you return, or are able, to create quality time with your children, such as reading a book together before bed or having a family game night. They can tell you all about what you missed and you can enjoy their storytelling.

3. Lack of time for self-care

As a working mother, finding time for your own self-care can be challenging, or feel impossible. However, self-care is crucial for mental and physical health.

Make time for activities that make you feel good, such as exercise, reading, or spending time with friends. This may be able to be combined with another activity such as a playdate for the children.

It’s also essential to prioritise sleep, healthy eating, and stress management techniques like meditation or yoga.

Overall, it is important to get some headspace from the day to day responsibilities. To give yourself a boost, a recharge and a time out.

Make a list of things you can do to grab that time for you and use it to plan how you can built that into your schedule.

4. Judgment and stigma

Unfortunately, there is still a stigma attached to being a working mother, with some people believing that mothers should stay at home with their children.

I had this very topic brought up to me via the comment ‘You shouldn’t have kids if you can’t be at home to look after them’ when I was pregnant. Ironically, it came from a childminder who would be out of business if everyone took her advice!

This can lead to feelings of judgement or insecurity, but it’s essential to remember that every family is different and there is no one right way to raise children.

Focus on what works for you and your family and don’t let outside judgement affect your choices. This is your life, you deserve to get out of it what you want.

Remember, if your child sees you as a happy parent, who is successful in their career, it will build a positive mindset towards the world of work and all that it brings.

5. Career progression

Finally, as a working mother, you may feel pressure to balance your career aspirations with family responsibilities.

It’s important to communicate with your employer about your career goals and explore flexible work arrangements or part-time work options that can allow you to maintain your career while also prioritising your family.

And don’t think that you should not have a career because you are a mother. As long as you and your employer are clear on the boundaries and it is acceptable to all, the sky’s the limit!

Conclusion

Being a working mother can be a challenging and overwhelming experience, but it’s important to remember that you are not alone.

There are bound to be women in the same situation as you at work, maybe some of them have set up a networking group or you could suggest it, for additional support.

Balancing work and family responsibilities, managing guilt, finding time for self-care, dealing with judgement and stigma, and maintaining career progression can be challenging.

By prioritising and communicating effectively, seeking support, and practising self-compassion, you can, as a working mother, manage these pressures and thrive both personally and professionally.

You are not alone.
